Why Choose Oak Framing?
Green oak is one of the most sustainable building materials available – it's naturally durable, carbon-sequestering, and requires no chemical treatment. As it dries and ages, oak develops beautiful natural cracks (called shakes) and a rich silver-grey patina that only improves with time.
- Fully bespoke design to suit your property
- Green oak sourced from sustainable managed woodland
- Traditional mortise and tenon joinery with oak pegs
- Structures designed for longevity
- Can be used with infill panels, glazing, or solid cladding
- Works alongside brick, stone, and render construction
- Planning guidance and permitted development advice
Working With Oak
We use green (unseasoned) oak which is easier to cut and joint than dried timber. The frame is raised on site and the wood seasons naturally in situ, gradually hardening and strengthening over time. The process is a skilled craft and one we take great pride in.
